| I am a middle class husband of five children, software engineer, college graduate and active member of a local non-denominational church. I have lived and worked for several years in both Indonesia and Switzerland and thus have been exposed to both high church culture as well as the Islamic and Hindu cultures of Indonesia.

What is your opinion on God ? religion ?

| Religion - Religion is man's attempt to reach God or to reach something that is beyond himself that will give his life some meaning. Because of man's inherent selfish nature, some men desiring power tend to use this need in all of us to control and manipulate his fellow man in the guise of helping. So, I believe that religion is essentially bad for us. It always leads us down the wrong path of what is it that we feeble human beings can do to satisfy the higher power.
God - My opinion of God has very little value. The real question is, what is God's opinion of ME! While I do not want to answer a question with a question, I have to ask...Why did he create me and what does he want of me? If we can answer these questions, then the other nine questions of life will flow from these answers. |
What is your opinion on love ? sex ? marriage ?

| Sacrifice - - That is the other word for love. If you truly love someone, then you will sacrifice your wants and desires in order to satisfy theirs. Sex, when confined to marriage, provides the ultimate way to satisfy someone else's desires and then get a benefits of that for yourself. Outside of marriage, it jsut degenerates into getting what you want from whom ever will give it to you. Marriage is the "gold standard" by which the family was designed for mankind. |
Are you happy ? Why or why not? How do you think a person can be happy ?

| Happiness comes and goes, with the what is happening in one's life. I do not strive to be happy, because that is a false goal. I strive for peace and contentment and love for others. Happiness is ultimately a sefl-centered enterprise, which if that is ones goal, can only lead to severe disappointment. True happiness (aka contentment) comes with knowing that you have a future of eternal peace after dead with a loving God. |
If you think you are wealthy ? what made you this wealth ? if you are not wealthy, what kept you back ?

| I am incredibly wealthy. I have all the wealth someone could want: a God who has forgiven me on my sins, a loving wife, great children (and grandchildren), a good church, caring friends, a fine job and home. What else could one ask for? All my wealth investments are being stored in heaven where no one can steal it and where neither inflation not entroy will degrade it's value. |
What is your opinion on death ?

| Death is a process of leaving this shell of a body and then being in heaven with God, Jesus and all those who have gone before who have trusted in Jesus. Its as if this world is not my home, I am just passing through. While here, I am to be an ambassador of the heavenly kingdom, where I am a member. A dear friend died this past weak of a sudden massive heart attack, and while I miss him, I am glad for him because his work here on earth is done, and he is now at rest and in ultimate peace with God. |
What do you think is the most efficient way to make money ?

| By printing it yourself! Just kidding...The most efficient way is to sell something that LOTS of other people what to buy. |
What is THE MOST important thing to you in your life ? Why ?

| My relationship with God the father and Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. Without knowledge of a loving God, life would be worse than meaningless, it would be a travesty to have such a complex and awesome universe that has no meaning to it. Knowing that my short life has some meaning and value as a creature made in the image of God is increadibly life and value affirming. |
If you had to pass on advise to your kids about how to live life, what would that be ?

| It is pretty simple...to know and love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and body, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. All other advice is derived from this simple premise. Without this fundamental truth, all other advice is trivial and meaningless. |
Is a person in control of his/her destiny ? Why or why not ?

| Yes and no. Yes, when the key decision on one's destiny after death, is kind of important. No, when one's life is wrapped up in the knowledge of an all powerful God who loves me, then I know that my desire to control my destiny is NOT the best approach. Letting God control my destiny, and trusting in his love, is a much more logical and better approach. Of course his direction to me is to listen to him, use reason, and love and trust in this process. |
Do you think it would be helpful for a person to read what you have said ? Why or why not ?

| I think it is, but what I have to say is fairly trivial, what God and Jesus have to say in "The Book" are far far more helpful. If what I say leads someone to search for the TRUTH of what I have said, then it is helpful. Otherwise, I am just another meaningless clanging cymbal in the cacophony of human ideas and words. |
